Your City Hall wedding, minus the stress.

I'm Segun, your photographer, hype man, and unofficial wingman for the day. You show up and be in love. I'll handle the angles, the timing, and the slightly chaotic beauty of City Hall.

Why City Hall — and why me

City Hall isn't just a courthouse. It's the prettiest "I do" in California.

The marble, the arches, the light pouring down that staircase — it genuinely looks like a movie set. But here's the thing nobody warns you about: it's also a busy, working building with a schedule, a crowd, and a clock that's always ticking.

That's where I come in. I've walked couple after couple through their City Hall day — locals, out-of-towners, folks who swear they're "so awkward in photos." My whole job is to make sure you feel comfortable and present while I quietly handle everything else: where to stand, when to move, and how to get the good light before the crowd shows up.

Why I love an elopement

Made for the ones who'd rather be present than perform.

There's something about an elopement that gets me every single time.

When it's just the two of you — no 200-person guest list, no seating charts, no pressure to perform for a room — what's left is the realest version of you two. The nervous laugh right before the vows. The way you reach for each other's hand on the staircase. That quiet "wait, we actually did it" look you share the second the commissioner says you're married. Elopements strip the whole day down to the part that actually matters: two people, completely present, choosing each other out loud. They're intimate, they're a little bit brave, and honestly they make for the most honest photographs I take all year. So if a big traditional wedding was never really your thing — if you'd rather sink into the moment than spend the day managing one — trust me, you and I are going to get along just fine.

What it's like working with me

Part friend, part City Hall expert — and always the photographer in your corner.

I keep the day easygoing and your nerves low, but don't let the casual vibe fool you: I know this building cold. Where the morning light lands, when the staircase clears, which corners stay quiet — that's the kind of thing that turns a busy public building into photos that feel calm, intentional, and completely you.

01

You won't feel awkward

"Unphotogenic" isn't a real thing — it just means nobody's guided you yet. I direct you into natural, fun poses so you actually look like yourselves, not mannequins.

02

You won't watch the clock

I know City Hall's rhythm — when it's packed, when the staircase clears, when the light hits the 4th floor just right. I keep us on schedule so you never feel rushed.

03

You'll get photos that feel like you

Not stiff. Not cookie-cutter. A mix of the big posed moments and the in-between candids — the laughing, the nervous hand-squeeze, the "we actually did it" look.

04

You get me, directly

No assistant, no phone tree. When you message Wingman Media, you're talking to the person who'll be behind the camera on your day. Random question at 11pm? Send it.

05

We can keep the party going

Want portraits at the Legion of Honor, Baker Beach, or somewhere that means something to you? I'll build it into the day so City Hall is the start, not the whole story.

06

You'll have your gallery fast

Your fully-edited photos land in a private online gallery within about 14 days — while the day still feels fresh and you're dying to share them.

City Hall 101

So… how do you actually get married here?

Great question, and one I get daily. There are basically three ways to do City Hall. Here's the no-jargon version so you can pick the one that fits your day (and your guest list).

01 / Civil Ceremony

The classic

You + up to 6 guests

A deputy marriage commissioner marries you up in the rotunda. It's quick — about three minutes — affordable, and you can usually book it around 90 days out. The rest of the time is yours to take photos around the building.

  • Quickest & most budget-friendly
  • Books ~90 days ahead
  • Perfect for intimate, low-key days
02 / Private Ceremony

The upgrade

Up to ~100 guests · 1 hour

You rent a private spot — the Mayor's Balcony or the 4th Floor — for a full hour. Bring your own officiant, write your own vows, add music or florals. Books further out, so it's great if you love to plan ahead.

  • Your own space & your own vows
  • Room for the whole crew
  • Books up to ~2 years ahead
03 / Full Buyout

The whole place

Evenings & weekends

Want City Hall entirely to yourselves? You can buy out the building for an evening or a Saturday. It's the big, dramatic, dance-on-the-staircase option. If this is the vibe, let's talk timeline early.

  • The building, all yours
  • Biggest guest counts
  • The full red-carpet moment

Not sure which lane you're in? Tell me your guest count and your vibe and I'll point you the right way — no pressure, no sales pitch. Ask me anything →

The little things I handle

That crowd behind you? Gone.

City Hall is a public, working building — which means tour groups, other couples, and the occasional confused tourist wandering through your shot. It's part of the charm, but it shouldn't be in your wedding photos.

So after your day, I carefully edit out the background distractions so your gallery looks the way the moment felt — like it was just the two of you. Drag the slider to see it in action.

Kind words
"
There wasn't a single moment where we felt awkward — the best hype man we could've asked for.
From the moment he arrived, he was so kind, professional, and full of amazing energy. He was extremely efficient with our time — he knew exactly how to navigate the building and made sure every minute was used purposefully. And the photos? Truly better than I ever imagined.
Julia & Kino · SF City Hall Elopement
"
He kept the energy pumped the entire time — we're so happy we chose him.
Segun was fantastic! He gave us easy-to-follow directions, which made taking photos feel natural. He made the experience fun and helped us feel comfortable throughout our wedding day. We highly recommend booking him.
Micaela & Omodele · SF City Hall Wedding
"
Pictures were absolutely STUNNING — a good mix of professional and personable.
Made my fiancé and I feel very comfortable. If you're worried about being nervous for a big moment and how that may affect your photos, he will definitely make you feel much better. Also very fairly priced for the quality and quantity of photos taken.

Good to know

City Hall, answered.

The questions I get over and over — here's the honest, useful version. Still wondering something weird and specific? That's literally my favorite kind of email.

Ask Me Anything →
Early. The building opens around 8am and the light pouring through those windows in the morning is unreal — plus it's blissfully empty before the midday rush. If an early call time isn't your thing, late afternoon as ceremonies wind down is the next best window.
Nope. City Hall is a busy public building, but knowing how to read the crowd is half my job. I guide you to spots that aren't jammed and time the staircase for when it clears. You'll be amazed how private it can feel with the right game plan.
For a regular ceremony day, no — anyone can take photos inside City Hall without a special permit. The value of hiring a pro is knowing the building, the timing, the posing, and getting clean, well-lit shots in tricky indoor light.
Street parking around Civic Center is basically a myth. Your safest bet is the Civic Center Garage (entrances on Larkin and McAllister). Honestly, for a no-stress morning, a rideshare straight to the door is the move — no circling the block in your wedding outfit.
As soon as you have a date — or even before. Lock in your City Hall ceremony slot first if you can, then reach out. If you haven't booked yet, message me anyway and I'll walk you through it. Dates do fill up, especially in spring and fall.
You'll need a California marriage license, and you can get it from any county in the state — it doesn't have to be San Francisco. It's valid for 90 days, so grab it ahead of time rather than scrambling on the morning of. I'll remind you, don't worry.
Absolutely — it's built into the Signature package and easy to add to Essential. Popular nearby spots are the Legion of Honor, Baker Beach, the Conservatory of Flowers, and the Botanical Garden. Tell me what feels like "you two" and we'll make it happen.
